Moss Point alum Devin Booker going to first NBA Finals
In his six years with the Phoenix Suns, Moss Point alum Devin Booker has played under five different head coaches and played with 80 different teammates.
In his first and only playoff appearance, the former Tiger messed around and made it to the NBA Finals.
Last night, the Suns took down the LA Clippers 130-103 in game six behind an all-time closeout performance from Chris Paul and his game high 41 points.
Booker chipped in 22 of his own and leads the Suns with 27 points per game during this post-season run, culminating with him having to share the podium with a trophy the Suns haven’t seen in 28 years. “It’s been a long time coming. We’ve seen the bottom – the bottom of the bottom for multiple years, and just keeping my head down, waiting on this moment right here. And Monty coming in, building the culture, him leading us with the preparation meets opportunity, and that was these moments right here and we took it and we ran with it, but we still have work to do. I mean this is nice and all, but we’re going for Larry for sure.”
Of course, talking about the Larry O’Brien Trophy. The Suns now await the winner of the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks.
