More information on Port Bienville improvements in Hancock County

The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission is releasing more information about plans to build a 30,000 square foot warehouse at Port Bienville.

This is part of what Governor Tate Reeves first announced last week, included in $57 million in grants to develop project-ready sites across the state.

The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission was awarded a $2 million grant with a local match of $1.7 million to construct the warehouse with a docking bay.

We’re now learning the project will create 15 new jobs with an existing tenant, Goodnight Terminal Services.

The new warehouse space supports Calgon Carbon as that plant finalizes a $200 million expansion.

Construction on the new warehouse is expected to begin later this year.

CEO of Hancock County Port and Harbor Blaine LaFontaine says “Hancock County is grateful for Governor Reeves’ continued support of our tenant’s needs and forecasted growth at Port Bienville.”
