Mom to Mom: Christmas Tea Towels
Today at Mom to Mom, we’re making Christmas tea towels!
This is a great, easy do-it-yourself gift that you can give to either a grandparent or a coworker, and have your kids get involved and make this. It’s really simple to do, all you need are some tea towels, some cookie cutters, some acrylic paint, some plates, and of course, a paintbrush.
What you’re going to do, take your tea towel, and lay it flat on the surface. I like to use a garbage bag underneath, just to make sure that you don’t get any paint on the counter. Then, once you have your tea towel laid out, you’re going to take your acrylic paint, and put it in your plate. I want to get it enough on there, to where you can put your cookie cutter in, and then you’ll take your paintbrush to spread it out a little bit, leaving a lot of paint in the middle.
Once you’ve got that ready to go, then you can take your cookie cutter, and push it into the paint, and then smash it down on the tea towel. You can do whatever pattern you like on the tea towel, you can mix up the cookie cutters, mix up the colors, however you want to do this, go ahead and do it.
It’s a really fun activity, especially to do with the kids, and the best part is they make wonderful gifts. I happen to find some napkin rings that just dress it up a little bit to make it super cute for a Christmas gift, put it in a bag, and then you’re ready to go.
Moms, if you’ve got any great ideas, we’d love to hear about it, and we’ll see you on the next Mom to Mom.
