Model Survivors Prepare to Take the Fight Against Breast Cancer to the Runway in South Mississippi
Some model survivors are taking to the fashion runway, taking steps to combat breast cancer, at the Pink Pearls to Save the Girls fundraiser at the Scarlet Pearl Casino in D’Iberville on Sat., Oct. 20.
Models will be wearing the latest fashions from Dillard’s, a retail department store located at Edgewater Mall in Biloxi, that has provided clothing for the models, as well as other services, such as hair and make up, for this annual event fundraiser. The models come from all walks of life. They are businesswomen, homemakers and military veterans, just to name a few, but they’re on a common mission – to help raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from this Oct. 20 event will go back into our local community through a local chapter of the Susan G. Komen non-profit foundation that serves this region of America.
Each model has been diagnosed with, or is currently diagnosed with, breast cancer, but they are bravely taking steps to help in the fight against this deadly disease, and doing so in style, thanks to Dillard’s and the Scarlet Pearl Casino, both proud sponsors of this community-oriented annual event.
You can get a front row seat to the show. Tickets are $50 a person, and tables are available. There will be a silent action and cash bar, as well. It all takes place at the Scarlet Pearl Casino in D’Iberville, starting at 8 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 20 in the casino’s Strand Event Center.
News 25’s Toni Miles will emcee the fashion show for the second year in a row. Her sister, Nickie-Miles Foster, a breast cancer survivor herself, will also take to the fashion runway for the second year in a row at this fundraiser.
