Mobile Kitchen Biloxi Upper Elementary
Students at Biloxi upper elementary school transformed into chefs today with the help of a mobile kitchen.
News 25’s Caroline Eaker spoke with students who had a chance to take part in the unique cooking experience.
Students are mixing things up at Biloxi upper elementary school with, Elly… The kitchen on wheels rolled into the parking lot to give kids, like fifth grader Joshua Rogers, hands on cooking experience.
“I did more than just cook. I learned how to do something better in my cooking experience. I have had experience for cooking, but now I have got more experience and it just makes me happy to know more about cooking.”

“We are trying to teach them healthy options and using fresh produce and we are using our salsa today and cooking healthy and hopefully bringing some of this home to their parents to hopefully help them be healthier at home.”

On the menu …. White bean and chicken tacos with a side of citrus avocado salsa. Chef Jeff even taught students how to make their tortillas from scratch.
It was a first for some students …

But others have put on an apron and stepped into the kitchen before…
“First thing in the morning I make some eggs for my brother just whip him up some eggs and it’s like good. My little brother is like wow these are so amazing thank you thank you.”
