MLK Coastwide Celebration ramps up

We are just a few days away from the MLK Coastwide Celebration and organizers are excited about this year’s lineup.

Things kickoff on Friday with the Aretha Franklin Tribute Concert, followed by the MLK Old School Party fundraiser at Climb C.D.C.

The Village Social Justice Symposium starts at 10 a.m. Saturday which includes a health fair and a summit to suit all in attendance.

Councilman Felix Gines presents Words of Inspiration with Civil Rights icon James Meredith. Event chairman Allytra Perryman said, “On Sunday, we’ll be in Biloxi with our Sunday inspirational with conversations with James Meredith. He’s a Civil Rights icon that has done many things in his lifetime including integrating Ole Miss.”
