MLK Coastwide Celebration gears up

The 2019 MLK Coastwide Celebration is ramping up.

Beginning Friday, the MLK Coastwide committee is hosting several events to honor the nation changing accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s theme is ‘be the difference.’

All in attendance are encouraged to visit the MLK Coastwide website to get a list of the upcoming festivities.

Event chairman Allytra Perryman says things kick off with a tribute to the legacy of Dr. King through the soulful styles of a music legend. “We start the celebration with our gospel concert on Friday at Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Pascagoula. The MLK Coastwide choir made up of citizens from all around the Gulf Coast will do Aretha Franklin style gospel songs as tribute to Dr. King.”

Later on Friday there will be the old school party fundraiser at Climb CDC. Admission is $20.
