MLK Coastwide Celebration events begin

In the lead up to Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, coastwide celebration events will be held all weekend long, starting Friday and weather permitting.

A gospel extravaganza takes place at 7 p.m. tonight at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Biloxi.

Saturday, there is a mental health luncheon at noon. On Sunday at 3 p.m., the Reverend William Barber is the featured speaker for this year’s coastwide celebration. Both of these events take place at St. Paul’s.

On Monday, the MLK parade roll at 11 a.m. in Downtown Biloxi on Howard Avenue, followed by the battle of the bands at 1 p.m. at Point Cadet Plaza.
