Mississippi’s superintendent releases annual report on education

The state’s superintendent’s office released its annual report and covers Mississippi’s “marathon achievement” in public schools during the past decade.

The report specifically highlighted the Mississippi academic assessment program’s scores for the past school year.

That report shows student achievement hit an all-time high.

The highest score being 71.4% in the U.S. History subject.

Other achievements include the pass rate for the third-grade reading assessment increasing to an all-time high of 76.3%.

Chronic absenteeism decreased to 23.9% while the graduation rate reached an all-time high of 88.9%.
