Mississippians stocking up on fireworks for July 4th

Saucier, Miss. (WXXV)- The rush is on for South Mississippians looking to stock up on fireworks to celebrates the Fourth of July.

Over at Lawler’s Fireworks in Saucier, people filed in for much of the day. Those looking to get sparklers, roman candles, bottle rockets and much more.

People are expected to continue to stream in until the last minute to play their part in lighting up the night sky.

We spoke to one patron, who talked about about his family’s firework plans this holiday.

“I’m grown now, so I like watching my kids enjoy the fireworks. They like the most expensive ones it seems like,” said JC Fernandez. “Me personally, just the bottle rockets and stuff like that. When I was a kid I liked the big ones but now I’m ready to pop the fireworks and get back inside in the air conditioning. Ya’ll be safe, have a good Fourth of July.”
