Mississippi unemployment rates reach new record low in April
The U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics announced Mississippi’s unemployment rate reached a new record low in April 2023.
April’s 3.4% unemployment rate marks the second consecutive month the state set a new low.
The state also set a record in 2022 in new private capital investment when it finalized over $6 billion in economic development projects.
Governor Reeves says back-to-back months of record low unemployment speaks volumes to the state’s momentum.
He said the education system is thriving, jobs are plentiful, and there are more opportunities than ever.
Governor Reeves said Mississippi is making historic investments and attracting thousands of jobs to every region of the state.
