Mississippi Suing State Farm
Attorney General Jim Hood filed a lawsuit today against State Farm to recover losses the state suffered from an alleged scheme by State Farm in the wake of Katrina.
The lawsuit claims that during State farm’s process of adjusting insurance claims for thousands of Mississippi homeowners, the company mischaracterized damages in order to minimize its payouts.
This forced the state to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to affected homeowners.
