Mississippi State women’s head basketball coach wins WCBA Coach of the Year

On the eve of their biggest game of the year, the Bulldogs have earned more national praise going to WBCA United States Marine Corps Division I National Coach of the Year Vic Schaefer.

This season, the sixth year head man of the Bulldogs led his bunch to the best regular season in school history, capped off by the first perfect season in the SEC in 20 years.

Mississippi State also won the regular season crown for the first time ever and is now 34-1 overall with that lone loss coming to defending national champion South Carolina in the conference tournament title game.

In addition, Tiera McCowan, Victoria Vivians, and Morgan Williams have all been named region finalists.
