Mississippi State hires Jeff Lebby as new head football coach

Mississippi State has hired the 36th coach in program history.

Sunday afternoon, director of athletics Zac Selmon announced Jeff Lebby as the new skipper of the Bulldogs. Lebby was most recently the offensive coordinator for Oklahoma, whose offense was one of only three in the country to rank inside the top six nationally in total offense, scoring offense, and passing offense.

In the official press release: Lebby said, “Being the head coach at Mississippi State is the opportunity of a lifetime. My family and I are fired up to engrain ourselves in this community, build relationships with our players, and hit the recruiting trail.”

Lebby is familiar with football traditions in Mississippi as he was the offensive coordinator for Ole Miss prior to his seasons with the Sooners.
