Mississippi State football fixing the fourth quarter
Different kind of game week preparation in Starkville as Mississippi State looks to rebound from its fourth quarter letdown against LSU in which the Bulldogs gave up 21 unanswered points to close out the 31-16 loss.
It was a muffed punt by Ocean Springs alum Austin Williams that opened the flood gates and the Tigers never looked back.
Here’s the response from Head Coach Mike Leach when asked about things he could possibly say to help his Bulldogs overcome the adversity they now face. “So, you think there was a sentence or two that wasn’t said last week? I mean left out a phrase maybe? A couple words? I mean maybe a key adjective here or there? No, I think it’s a little more complex than that. I mean there’s going to be adversity. That’s why they have a football game in the first place, to create adversity and see who comes through it. And this is the way you come through it, is you have the discipline to do your job more times in a row than the guy across from you, so that’s what we’ve got to do.”
