South Mississippian spearheads drive at National NAACP convention to remove Confederate symbol from Mississippi’s State Flag. The resolution by Curley Clark is being signed, expected to soon be passed at National Convention.


An emergency resolution by the national NAACP calling for the Confederate symbol moved from Mississippi’s state flag has been signed at the NAACP’s National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Moss Point NAACP President and Mississippi NAACP Vice President Curley Clark called News 25 this morning with the news.


Clark says, "It’s time to have the divisive Confederate symbol removed from our state flag and replaced with a symbol that all Mississippians can embrace."
