Mississippi State DT not invited to combine for violent video

When this video came to light prior to Jeffrey Simmons ever playing his first game at Mississippi State, he was suspended for only one game, not even close to long enough, but what’s done is done.

Anyways, as it turns out, the future first-round NFL draft pick still isn’t getting off quite that easy.

According to NFL.com, Simmons won’t be invited to next month’s scouting combine because he doesn’t meet the criteria under the league’s policy about past issues involving violence.

Of course, Simmons was given a second chance in Starkville and went on to dominate the SEC during his three seasons with the Bulldogs. The former Noxubee County star is considered a potential top 10 pick in the latest mock drafts and hasn’t shown a history of violence since that original incident.

Colorado State wide receiver Preston Williams has also been left off the invite list.
