Mississippi State defeats Vanderbilt in the College World Series Final to win first national championship

In the race to win game three of the College World Series final, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt are also in a race to 50 wins.

First to do that takes home a national championship. Commodores looking for their second in a row and third all-time, Bulldogs looking for their first ever.

This is what Omaha is all about, best on best, OmaDawgs and Vandy with nine innings to settle the score and crown the first national champion since 2019.

OmaDawgs win this one 9 to nothing. You can’t tell the story of this one without Will Bednar going six no-hit innings, just three walks, and four strikeouts. You can’t write it any better than this.

Mississippi State ends the season at 50-18 with a national championship in its second-ever College World Series final appearance.
