Mississippi State baseball gearing up to compete in 2024 Hancock Whitney Classic
Games two and three of the Hancock Whitney Classic are set to take place this week on March 12th and 13th. Both games will feature the Mississippi State Bulldogs who are riding a 9-game winning streak heading into their coast games.
On Monday, the Bulldogs took to the Biloxi Shuckers stadium for batting practice ahead of their March 12th matchup against South Alabama and their March 13th game against New Orleans.
State is currently 12-4 but have played their best baseball over their last 10 games – and are currently on a 9-game winning streak. Before practice began on Monday, head coach Chris Lemonis spoke on the opportunity at hand while his team is in Biloxi, MS.
“Well it is an awesome venue for us to come and play,” he said. “A lot of fans from the state are here, we always draw a good crowd and t has always been a good event for us. Our kids love playing here.”
