Mississippi State back on track after Bulldogs take down Vanderbilt

Mississippi State back on track in SEC play with a 45-6 win at Vanderbilt following a blowout loss to Alabama in week seven.

The Bulldogs outgained the Commodores by well over 300 yards and picked up 29 first downs to their five.

MSU’s leading receiver was D’Iberville alum Jaden Walley who had five catches for 72 yards while Ocean Springs alum Austin Williams had three receptions for 30 yards. Former MGCCC quarterback Chance Lovertich went 5-6 for 77 yards and a touchdown.

Here’s Coach Mike Leach on his favorite and least favorite Halloween candy. “I mean I completely hate candy corn. When I was a kid – well, gummy bears. Let’s see, gummy bears for sure. (Sour or regular?) Haribo, it’s got to be the Haribo ones. And then the other thing I like is when they used to have the Spree’s in a box. Outstanding. You have to go to the Dollar Store to find it, but I do. And then the latest, they have those Nerds clusters, which is new. (With the gummy?) Yes, which is good. The Nerds clusters are good. And then if you go chocolate, probably Almond Joy.”

Next up for MSU is homecoming against 12th ranked Kentucky at 6 p.m. Saturday from Starkville.
