Mississippi Speaker of the House speaks to Jackson County Rotary Clubs

Mississippi Speaker of the House Philip Gunn visited Gautier today to speak at a rotary international meeting and luncheon.

The Rotary Club of Gautier hosted the event at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Campus. Rotaries from Pascagoula, Moss Point, and Ocean Springs were also invited to the event with about 150 members total showing up to hear the speaker.

The event was the first joint-session involving these four rotaries in Jackson County.

Gautier Rotary Club Program Director Rico Borrazzo says the members were ready to hear from Speaker Gunn. “So, it’s an exciting meeting. It’s bringing the entire community together, the Gulf Coast, because we really are attempting to make this an exciting and interesting meeting.”

Speaker Gunn spoke on a variety of legislative topics such as the potential removal of state income tax in Mississippi.
