Mississippi Sound Coalition to unveil study findings at supervisors meeting

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Mississippi Sound police proposals and studies will be presented to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors Monday morning.

Scientists with the Northern Gulf Institute, USM, and MSU, alongside the Mississippi Sound Coalition, will present two new studies on the impact of the Bonnet Carre Spillway openings.

The research looks at potential ecological and water flow ‘tipping points’ in the Sound and includes recommendations for possible changes to how the spillway is managed.

The presentation begins at 9:30 at the Harrison County Courthouse in Gulfport, followed by a press conference with researchers and coalition leaders.
