Mississippi Sheriff’s Association 2016 Summer Conference Banquet
As public leaders, sheriffs have the responsibility to provide citizens with the best protection and knowledge.
Representatives from across the state united this week for the 2016 Mississippi Sheriff’s Association summer conference. Today marked day three of the week-long conference.
Tonight, sheriffs took a break from the scheduled informational meetings to relax and have a good time during this year’s banquet at the IP Casino.
David Browning, also known as the Mayberry deputy, served as the entertainment for the evening. “I’ve never been a law enforcement officer myself, but I have learned a lot over the years about what law enforcement stands for and the heart that they have and their willingness to put it on the line for us as private citizens and I respect that.”
This year’s conference attracted nearly 60 sheriffs.
At the end of the week, officials will leave with more knowledge on topics such as fire investigation, victim’s rights, drug enforcement and more.
