Mississippi Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith on vaccine mandate

Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith announced they have joined a congressional review act challenge to stop President Biden’s vaccine mandate.

The mandate says private businesses must require COVID vaccines for their employees.

The CRA is the official process for Congress to eliminate an executive branch rule and will be filed immediately after the Biden Administration issues its final rules for the mandate.

The mandate will require all employees at private businesses with 100 or more workers to be vaccinated. It will also introduce a $14,000 fine for anyone who breaks the mandate.

The CRA will be filed on the basis the Biden mandate is invasive to personal medical decisions and could worsen labor shortages. Hyde-Smith said, “Now guys, this is pretty simple. The decision to be vaccinated should be up to the individual and not to the government. This is not American, we should be able to make our own choices and, um, you know this Biden’s big government knows best policies — it has divided this country more. And we need to be coming together, we need to be overcoming this crisis of COVID-19 and it definitely should be up to the American people of their choice, of their health, of their medical decisions and not President Joe Biden’s.”
