Mississippi senators give statements on SCOTUS decision
Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith both gave statements regarding the reversal of Roe v. Wade.
Senator Wicker authored a congressional brief supporting Mississippi’s case. He said the state should be proud of their role in the effort. Senator Wicker said he will continue to support efforts to protect unborn life at the federal level.
Senator Hyde Smith gave the following statement. “The decision does not outlaw abortion, as some pro-abortionists contend. But it is a significant departure from Roe in that the people, through their elected leaders, will guide how each state approaches abortion, rather than a nationwide policy set by unelected judges.”
