Mississippi Senate didn’t confirm state superintendent
The Mississippi Senate has chosen not to confirm Dr. Robert Taylor as State Superintendent of Education.
The Senate has questioned the process the State Board of Education used to select a candidate. A search firm assisted in identifying seven semifinalists, selecting Dr. Taylor who began serving in the position on January 17th.
The State Board of Education will schedule a special-called meeting to name an interim state superintendent and take steps to begin a new search.
