Mississippi Science Teachers Association Conference held at the Golden Nugget

The Mississippi Science Teachers Association held their annual state wide conference today at the Golden Nugget.

Science teachers from all over the state had the chance to interact with one another, attend several seminars, and visit different types of educational booths.

This two-day event is hosting 350 teachers as they attend 80 different sessions that are being led by Mississippi’s best science researchers.

This event is for Mississippi science teachers who teach kindergarten all the way to college. Mississippi Science Teachers Association President Joe Sumrall said, “It’s gonna be diverse because they’re elementary through college, but all subjects in science, physical science, chemistry, physics, biology. Some will be for the elementary teachers, probably will be a little bit more hands on, inquiry-based instruction.”

This is the first time the conference has been held face-to-face since 2019 due to COVID.
