Mississippi Renaissance Festival taking place at the Harrison County Fairgrounds

Billed as ‘where fairy tales come to life,’ the Mississippi Renaissance Festival is coming to the Harrison County Fairgrounds this coming weekend.

Guests will have the opportunity to explore ‘the year of our Lord 1306.’  The festival offers the chance to travel through time and culture.

Three distinct town markets will be offered for guests to enjoy their favorite renaissance food and desserts, live bands and singers, belly dancers, traveling troupes of magicians and acrobats, Romani fortunetellers, and multiple stages filled with bards, plays, and live tournaments.

Each market features their own pub with drinks unique to the theme. MS Renaissance Festival Organizer Julianne Poor said, “This particular festival is a way of taking our traditional renaissance festival and utilizing it as an educational opportunity to teach non-tactile subjects like history and voting in a tactile manner for our special needs kids.”

The Mississippi Renaissance Festival is Friday, October 14th through Sunday, October 17th from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. at the Harrison County Fairgrounds.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children.
