Mississippi Regional Housing Authority VIII hosted community health fair in Pascagoula

Today, Mississippi Regional Housing Authority VIII hosted a free community health fair at the Pascagoula Senior Center.

Over 40 vendors were set up, passing out information and offering free screenings. COVID testing, vaccines, and booster shots were also available.

Guests were also able to get haircuts and manicures on the spot.

Those interested in gardening also received free seeds and tips on how to grow a garden.

Mikite Williams, family self-sufficiency and homeownership coordinator with the housing authority, says this event gives people access to information that they may not know anything about. “We have vendors here today that are offering different information about health care plans. We have mental health here, Coastal Family Health. We are doing free internet and phones and iPads so it’s just something for everybody.”

The Mississippi Regional Housing Authority VIII will host another free health fair in Hattiesburg.
