Mississippi Ranked as the Second Most Dangerous State for Memorial Day Weekend Travel
Hopefully you can beat the heat this Memorial Day and avoid accidents as you and your family travel for a fun-filled holiday break or vacation during this extended holiday weekend.
Be extra careful while driving here in Mississippi.
Why? We point to a study just released using data from the national highway traffic safety administration.
According to the report, our state is considered the second most dangerous state for travel over the Memorial Holiday Weekend.
The research team, A Secure Life, looked at fatal car crash statistics between 2013 and 2017.
Mississippi had an average of 1.24 crashes per 100,000 people, edged out only slightly by the state of West Virginia, with 1.3 out of 100,000.
