Mississippi Primary Elections Results

The 2024 Mississippi Primary Election takes place Tuesday, March 12th. The polls have closed.

Here in South Mississippi, the races we are following on the ballot are United States President, United States Senate, and U.S. House of Representative 4th Congressional District.

For United States President:

Democrat: Joe Biden (Incumbent): With 82 percent of the votes counted, Biden received 80,547 votes.

Joe Biden wins the Democratic presidential primary in Mississippi. President Joe Biden has formally clinched a second straight Democratic nomination.

Republican: Donald Trump: With 89 percent of the votes counted, Trump received 211,998 votes.

According to NBC News, Donald Trump has clinched the GOP nomination with Mississippi’s 40 delegates in what became an uncontested race after Nikki Haley dropped out.

Republican: Nikki Haley (dropped out of election)- With 89 percent of votes counted, Haley received 12,368 votes.

Republican: Vivek Ramaswamy (dropped out of election)- With 89 percent of the votes counted, Ramaswamy received 1,035 votes.

Republican: Ron DeSantis (dropped out of election)-With 89 percent of the votes counted, DeSantis received- 3, 820 votes.

For United States Senate:

Democrat: Ty Pinkins: With 2 percent of votes counted, Pinkins received 2,222 votes.

This race is uncontested. Pinkins will face the Republican nominee in the November General Election.

The 2024 Primary U.S. Senate Republican Race has been called in favor of Incumbent Roger Wicker. The race was called with 13 percent of the votes counted. As of that time, Wicker had 19,375 of the votes. Dan Eubanks secured 6,155 of the votes and Ghannon Burton received 6,563 of the votes. The Republican nominee will face off against Democratic nominee Ty Pinkins in the November General Election.

WINNER: Republican: Roger Wicker (Incumbent): 90 percent of the votes counted, Wicker has 144,134 votes.

Republican: Ghannon Burton: With 90 percent of the votes counted, Burton has 58,689 votes.

For U.S House of Representative 4th Congressional District

Democrat: Craig Raybon.

This race is uncontested. Raybon will face the Republican nominee in the November General Election.

The 2024 4th Congressional District Primary has been called in favor of Incumbent Mike Ezell. The race was called with 45 percent of the votes counted. At that time, Ezell had 16,751 of the votes. Carl Boyanton secured 4,491 of the votes and Michael McGill received 2,269 of the votes. The Republican nominee will face off against Democratic nominee Craig Raybon in the November General Election.

Republican: Mike Ezell (Incumbent)- With 98 percent of the votes counted, Ezell has 50,849 votes.
