Mississippi Power to host household hazardous waste collection event
Mississippi Power will host Bring It!, the Harrison County Household Hazardous Waste Collection event, this Saturday.
Bring It! is coordinated in partnership with the Harrison County Beautification Department and gives residents a safe way to dispose of common hazardous waste materials.
“Bring It! is an important piece of our environmental stewardship program, and Plant Watson is proud to host it again this year,” said Plant Manager Conrad Amos. “Year after year we see the tremendous impact that this event has on our community. We’re thankful for our partners and the volunteers that help make this event successful, and we hope that residents take advantage of this opportunity to safely dispose of common household hazardous waste items.”
Items that will be accepted will include:
- Aerosols
- Batteries
- Electronics
- Light bulbs
- Paint
- Household chemicals
- Tires (limit 5)
The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon this Saturday at Mississippi Power’s Plant Watson located on 10406 Lorraine Road. Participants will remain in their vehicles while volunteers unload their materials.
Mississippi Power has a storm team ready to respond to customers’ needs should the service territory see impacts from Rafael.
