Mississippi Power teams leave for Alabama to help restore power

Mississippi Power did their part to help our neighbors affected by severe weather.

A storm team of 150 join Alabama’s restoration efforts following a weekend of severe weather.

That first crew arrived in the state of Sunday afternoon and began restoring services to customers near Selma and Camden.

An additional group departed earlier this morning.

One Mississippi Power team member spoke ahead of leaving for Alabama. MS Power Line Construction and Maintenance Charlie Watson said, “We’re headed to join our storm team in Alabama to assist in Alabama Power’s storm restoration. We completed our restoration here yesterday in Mississippi and we completed it safety. We plan to do the same thing in Alabama.”

The weekend weather left downed trees, poles, and power lines.

Mississippi Power crews worked overnight Saturday to restore customers in the northern part of Mississippi.
