Mississippi Power preparing for storm

Mississippi Power is ready for whatever severe weather may come across the Coast.

The storm center is activated and crews will be available 24/7 ready to assist customers in case of power outages. Their crews will be all hands-on deck and they’re bringing in 100 additional resources from Alabama, Tennessee, and Missouri.

Mississippi Power would also like to remind residents to stay safe and avoid down power lines. If you encounter a down line, call them. Mississippi Power Coast Division Manager Michael Middleton said, “Every employee has a storm role and because we’re in storm mode year-round, it seems like, our employees are tested. They’ve been through ice storms, tornados, hurricanes. They’re willing to sacrifice their Father’s Day Weekend to respond to the needs of our customers.”

Using Mississippi Power’s outage map, you can also check the status of an outage, report an outage, and sign up for outage alerts.
