Mississippi Power hosts ‘Bring It!’ waste disposal event
South Mississippians lined up to discard unwanted waste at an annual Mississippi Power event on Saturday.
The yearly event at Plant Watson, called ‘Bring it!’ is a way to get rid of some of those big things lying around your house or yard like old motor oil, paints, batteries, electronics waste, and more.
Event organizers say this year they collected 1,500 gallons of oil, two 18-wheelers full of tires, and several large containers worth of chemicals and waste, helping the environment in the process.
This is the 26th year this event has been held at Plant Watson in conjunction with Harrison County.
