Mississippi Power Foundation awards grants to nonprofits
The Mississippi Power Foundation has awarded grants to three nonprofit healthcare providers serving underserved communities.
One of those nonprofits includes Coastal Family Health Center on the Mississippi Coast.
The funding will support a range of services, including primary care, pediatrics, dental care, behavioral health, and preventative screenings for patients who may not otherwise have access to affordable care.
Coastal Family Health Center treats more than 36,000 patients each year at locations across the Coast and also operates a mobile health unit that brings care directly to shelters, community events, and other outreach sites.
The foundation also provided funding to the Southeast Mississippi Rural Health Initiative, which operates more than a dozen clinics across the Pine Belt, and the Free Clinic of Meridian.
