Mississippi Power Federal Losses
Mississippi Power will likely have to repay $234 million in federal tax credits because it doesn’t look like the carbon dioxide component of the plant will be up and running by the April 19th deadline.
This would be the second batch of tax credits Mississippi Power could have to repay because of delays with the power plant.
Mississippi Power leaders are trying to identify other tax benefits to protect customers from the loss. A hearing for another proposed rate increase is set for November 10th.
