Mississippi Power cleans up the Pascagoula River
Mississippi Power is continuing its Renew Our Rivers clean up this month.
Roughly 75 employee volunteers met at the Pascagoula River this morning for the company’s environmental stewardship program.
Volunteers spent their time pulling large debris and litter out of the river, extracting 10 refrigerators and an estimate of five tons of debris.
The Renew our Rivers program impacts more than 20 waterways in the state in its attempt to keep them safe for marine life and boaters.
The cleanup follows the company’s Gulfport Lake and Biloxi Bay clean up from last week.
