Mississippi is now reporting which long-term care facilities have COVID-19 outbreaks. Here’s the list.
(WXXV) — The Mississippi State Department of Health is now reporting the names of long-term care (LTC) facilities that are experiencing outbreaks of COVID-19.
Long-term care facilities like nursing homes are considered high risk locations because their residents are older or in poor health.
Even one case of COVID-19 in these facilities among residents or employees is considered an outbreak. We investigate residents, staff and close contacts of infected individuals for possible exposure.
Long-term care facilities include nursing homes, personal care homes, assisted living homes, and intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disability.
