Mississippi native Holly Brand moves to live shows on ‘The Voice’

Mississippi’s Holly Brand has made it through to the semifinals of The Voice with her soulful version of Jo Dee Messina’s ‘Bring on the Rain.’

Brand, along with D. Smooth, move on to next week’s shows. Smooth was the first person Clarkson chose while Brand beat out three other Clarkson team members to move into the live performances next week.

In choosing Brand, Clarkson said, “She’s very exciting for me. She’s got the whole twist. She can do whistle notes. She can do R&B kind of pop runs. There’s just something super special about her and I don’t think many people realize how gifted she is yet.”
