Mississippi National Guard welcomed back home

The Mississippi National Guard has welcomed home troops from the nation’s capital last week.

These guardsmen were welcomed at Thompson Air Field on September 25 with 70 guardsmen departing to replace the returning group.

This comes as Governor Tate Reeves approved an extension of the D.C. mission to November 30, reconstructing the forces based on mission needs.

Mississippi originally deployed 180 service members to the nation’s capital mid-August to support secret service, park police, capitol police, and other forces.
