Mississippi National Guard Heads to D.C.
Members of the Mississippi Army and Air National Guard are en route to Washington, D.C. to provide support for the 58th Presidential Inauguration Ceremony on Friday.
Approximately 150 soldiers and airmen left for Washington this morning. The joint team will provide support with traffic control, crowd management, and communication.
The Mississippi National Guard team joins more than 7,500 National Guard soldiers and airmen from 44 states.
Officials have been working since last March to have preparations ready for the event.
