Mississippi Municipal League wraps up first day
The Mississippi Municipal League wrapped up their first day with a ‘meet the exhibitors’ welcome reception.
Vendors were set up all throughout the exhibit hall in the convention center to teach city officials about everything from road paving to decorating for the holidays.
WXXV was able to catch two visiting mayors from Utica and Marks, who told us how this convention benefits small towns. Marks Mayor Joe Shegog said, “For me, It’s a good place to come and network and to refresh yourself on some of the rules and regulations, some of the laws that are changing across the state. We also found out about some new grants, some new funding that you can get for your towns.”
Utica Mayor Kenneth Broome said, “Smaller towns, we don’t know exactly what’s going on, so when you come down here and you get with other municipalities, then you know what’s going on and what will help your community as well.”
On Tuesday, these officials will be able to meet the candidates for Lt. Governor.
