Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association Motor Rodeo
Law enforcement officers were putting their skills to the test in the Scarlet Pearl parking lot.
Every year the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association holds a summer conference were officers hold different types of meetings and training sessions.
This morning, departments from all over Mississippi, along with a few from Alabama and Louisiana, participated in the motor rodeo, demonstrating what they learned in training over the week by maneuvering through obstacle courses made out of cones.
Association President Mark Hodges says that his favorite part of the training is seeing the law enforcement community coming together as one. “It’s a great opportunity when officers can come together, fellowship, collaborate, and train together… and we’re not gathering up for somebody’s funeral or somebody that has gotten killed in the line of duty, so this is a great opportunity to collaborate, to fellowship, and be a resource.”
After the motor rodeo, a competition was held for the K9s and their officers from the different departments.
