Mississippi Junior Golf Amateur Championships at Windance Country Club
The Mississippi Junior Golf Amateur Championship is being played at the Windance Country Club.
Amazing golfers from all over the state are competing in hopes of becoming a state champion. There are a total of 102 juniors competing, ranging from ages eight to 18.
The three-day long tournament ends in big smiles and even bigger trophies.
The tournament is led by Directors Carter Page and Adam Smith. Page said, “We have 14 state championships in the state of Mississippi, this being the only junior one. It’s a big deal. Everyone’s, you know, coveting earning this trophy. There are a lot of college coaches out here watching them play, those who are looking to play at the next level. So, it’s a big deal, we’re competing on a national level, a lot of our juniors are getting recognized nationally now, so to win the state championship, is kinda just an extra notch in your belt.”
Page says golf teaches a lot of life lessons and he is happy many golfers are present at the tournament.
