Mississippi Highway Patrol responds to multiple deadly crashes over the weekend

Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to two deadly crashes over the weekend in two different counties.

The first happened on I-59 north in Pearl River County around 3 a.m. Saturday.

A Dodge Challenger traveling south on I-59 crashed into a box truck traveling northbound. The driver of the Dodge, 58-year-old Terrance Nix, died at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the box truck were taken to an area hospital for their injuries.

On Saturday afternoon, a man died in a crash involving a car and motorcycle in Harrison County. It happened around 1:40 on Highway 67 near Success Road. MHP officials say the motorcycle crashed into a car there.

The motorcyclist, 32-year-old Benjamin McSwain, died at the scene.
