Mississippi Highway Patrol releases Labor Day 2026 travel period numbers

The Mississippi Highway Patrol has released the numbers from its Labor Day travel period.

Across the state, troopers responded to 136 crashes with 44 injuries, including two deadly crashes.

As we’ve reported, one of those deadly crashes happened Sunday morning in Hancock County, where a 23-year-old woman was killed.

This year’s Labor Day enforcement period ran from Friday night to Monday night.
