Mississippi Highway Patrol investigating fatal accident in Pearl River County
On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at approximately 4 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Interstate 59 in Pearl River County.
A 2018 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 33-year-old Jordan A. Lott of Lumberton, MS, was traveling north on Interstate 59 when the vehicle traveled off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Jordan Lott received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Trooper Cal Robertson with Mississippi Highway Patrol confirmed that this accident is the weather-related death that MEMA reported earlier Thursday morning.
