Mississippi Highway Patrol ‘Home for the Holidays’ Campaign

Mississippi Highway Patrol wants everyone to get home safe for the holidays.

Today, they started their safe driving campaign with Christmas just days away. They want to make sure everyone is following the rules of the road. Be sure not to text and drive and if you do plan on drinking during the holidays, have a sober driver.

Make time for your trips so you don’t have to speed. Chase Elkins with Mississippi Highway Patrol said, “Plan ahead. Part of the problem that we have is we live in such a fast paced society and people just go on time. If we plan ahead and plan ahead for a sober driver or another mode of transportation, we want everybody to make it home for the holidays this holiday season. You know the message that we’re putting out is only half the battle, the big park is the people that are hearing the message to take it home.”

Mississippi Highway Patrol saw zero deaths during the holidays last year thanks to this campaign. They are hoping for the same results this year.
