Mississippi Heroes hosts Beer and Bacon Fest over the weekend-Spencer

Mississippi Heroes’ 4th annual Beer and Bacon Festival cooked up funds for a great cause!

The event had more than 40 breweries and restaurants on site for guests to sample from.  These samples included unique beers, chocolate covered bacon, and many other pork themed dishes.

This is Mississippi Heroes biggest fundraiser. It helps fund the organizations hero reveals and other events they hold each year.  Mississippi Heroes Executive Director Katherine Sutton said, “It’s our fourth year. So, we have a lot of people who come back each year, but we are always adding people. We’re trying to make it a better event each year. So, we’re always working on it. We’re building community relationships. The restaurants that come participate; we try to partner with them around the year. It’s a community. So, we like to give back to those that give to us.”

All in all, 600 tickets were sold for the festival.
